Former litigation department head brings national trial experience, international arbitration credentials, and a parallel career in sports law to mediation and arbitration practice.
NEW YORK, Aug. 24, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Signature Resolution is proud to announce that Jim Quinn has joined its panel of neutrals, where he will serve as a mediator and arbitrator focusing on complex commercial disputes, including antitrust, securities, intellectual property, entertainment, and sports law matters. A former head of one of the nation's largest litigation departments and an experienced international arbitrator, Jim brings to every dispute an informed judgment shaped by trying and winning cases at a level of complexity comparable to what sophisticated parties now bring to the mediation table.
Early in his career at Weil, Gotshal & Manges, Jim earned a seat on the firm's management committee at a younger age than any attorney before him, and he later took charge of the firm's Litigation Department, a role that put him at the helm of several hundred litigators across the firm. Throughout that time, he maintained an active trial practice representing corporate clients in high-stakes antitrust, securities, and intellectual property matters. Alongside his commercial litigation work, Jim represented players' associations from five major professional sports leagues, including the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and MLS, giving him direct experience with some of the highest-profile disputes in professional sports.
At the table, Jim pairs directness with careful preparation. He gives each side a clear read of where their case stands, drawing on decades of trial experience to help parties understand how their position is likely to hold up in front of a jury. His command spans industries as varied as entertainment, energy, healthcare, and consumer products, and he adjusts his approach depending on who is across the table, whether a first-time plaintiff or seasoned in-house counsel. Parties and counsel alike describe him as approachable and good-humored, qualities that keep even complex negotiations productive.
"Jim's combination of trial experience and genuine approachability is exactly what sophisticated parties need at the table," said Dario Higuchi, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Signature Resolution. "We are proud to welcome him to our panel."
In 2017, Jim joined Berg & Androphy as Of Counsel while building his mediation and arbitration practice, and he has since mediated a number of highly confidential, high-stakes disputes involving multinational companies. He is a Fellow of the American College of Trial Lawyers and the International Academy of Trial Lawyers, a Fellow of The New York Bar Foundation, and a member of the International Society of Barristers. He also sits on the Advisory Board of The National Judicial College and serves on the Panel of Distinguished Neutrals for the Center for Public Resources (CPR). The National Law Journal twice selected Jim as one of the ten best trial lawyers in the United States, in 1993 and 2004, one of only a small number of attorneys chosen twice. Additionally, Chambers Global, Chambers USA, and Legal 500 have each recognized his trial and litigation work.
Jim earned his Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame.
