Singlewire Software, a leading mass notification technology developer, has won a 2020 EdTech Breakthrough Award for Best Technology Solution for Student Safety. The 2020 EdTech Breakthrough Awards program showcases technologies and companies that drive innovation and exemplify the best in educational technology solutions across the globe. Singlewire Software was recognized for its InformaCast Fusion mass notification solution which can enhance safety and communication in education environments.

“The number one priority for K-12 schools needs to be providing a safe environment for students to learn,” said Pat Scheckel, executive vice president of product management at Singlewire Software. “This award highlights the benefits our InformaCast Fusion software can provide schools that are looking to protect students with effective mass notifications.”

InformaCast Fusion is a mass notification system that allows organizations to reach on-premises and mobile devices with critical alerts from a single interface, providing the speed and reach needed to make everyone aware of a crisis. Messages can be sent as text and audio to IP phones, IP speakers, desktop computers, digital signage, mobiles devices and more. The system can be used to help communicate and initiate lockdowns or evacuations during emergency situations like active shooter events or severe weather. K12 schools also use InformaCast to help with daily activities, like school bell schedules.

“As huge disruptions have impacted the full spectrum of education this year, including schools, teachers, students and parents across the globe, the EdTech industry is now under a global spotlight, building and implementing an entirely new digital education system,” said James Johnson, managing director of EdTech Breakthrough. “With the EdTech community working in overdrive this year we are especially thrilled to take the time to award the ‘breakthrough’ innovators that are revolutionizing learning. We are proud to recognize these companies that will define the future of our education industry…”

All award nominations were evaluated by an independent panel of experts within the EdTech industry, with the winning products and companies selected based on a variety of considerations, including innovation, design and user-experience, as well as overall technological advancement for their respective categories. This year’s program attracted more than 1,750 nominations from over 15 different countries throughout the world.
