PHILIPSBURG, St. Maarten (PRWEB) January 09, 2019
Beaches, culture, cuisine, sailing and shopping are just a few reasons vacationers flock to the Caribbean’s St. Maarten. Rainforest Adventures’ Rockland Estate Park has added six more exciting experiences to the list with something for everyone and 20% savings on select direct bookings for a limited time.
#1 -- St. Maarten is known for its dramatic views and visitors are treated to some of the most breathtaking scenery from Sentry Hill, one of St. Maarten’s highest elevation at 1,125 feet. At Rockland Estate, walkways and platforms encircle the mountaintop showcasing 360-degree vistas of the dual-nation island as well as the neighboring islands Saba, St. Barts, St. Eustatius and Anguilla. Those who want to linger can get comfortable with a beverage at the hill top bar, a must do experience.
#2 – Sightseers won’t have to climb Sentry Hill to enjoy the views, they can sit back, relax and watch the beauty unfold as they ascend on the Soualiga Sky Explorer a chairlift spanning a total of 2,997 ft. to the top.
#3 –The popular Schooner Ride sends adventurers down the mountain in large 44-inch inner tubes on this specially designed 657-foot track of curves and straightaways. Every Saturday and Sunday from noon to 3:00 pm guests can purchase a ticket for Schooner Happy Hour and breeze down the mountain for as many rides as time allows.
#4 – There’s another stop on the Soualiga Sky Explorer as it ascends providing an additional chance to combine this location’s sensational landscape with exciting adventure on the Sentry Hill Zipline. This traditional, 4-span zip line takes adventurers on a 500-meter flight across the mountain ridge.
#5 – In addition to a Soualiga Sky Explorer chairlift ride to the fantastic views, each adventure begins at the historic Emilio Wilson Museum, a restored plantation house originally built in the 1700s. The museum tells the powerful story Trace Wilson who was born into slavery on the property in 1818 and her direct descendant Emilio Wilson. Guests will see depictions of what life was like on a plantation and learn about the customs, traditions, lifestyle and stories that earned Sint Maarten the nickname ‘The Friendly Island.’
#6 – After an adventurous day, Rockland Estate guests can end their visit at Emilio’s “and dine with history.” The restaurant is located within the 17th century walls of the plantation’s Sugar Cane Boiling house once home to Emilio Wilson.
The Schooner Happy Hour ticket is $33 for adults and $25 for kids and seniors. Now through January 31, 2019 guests can save 20% on the Sky Explorer and 360° Views package, adults $52, $40 kids and seniors, and the Sentry Hill Zip and Schooner package, adults $89, $85 kids and seniors, for bookings direct with Rainforest Adventures using code ONLINE20.
