Introducing Sketchfab for Teams

"Sketchfab for Teams gives an increasingly distributed workforce the necessary tools to manage, review, and distribute 3D assets"

Sketchfab, the leader in 3D visualization for the web, today announced the launch of Sketchfab for Teams, a robust platform that allows team members within an organization to collaborate on 3D workflows using a shared account.

This new feature set enables all stakeholders in a project—including marketing teams, communication teams, managers, and those who are not necessarily 3D designers—to access and iterate on ongoing 3D projects without the need for specialized software or technical knowledge. Organizations can quickly and easily access 3D content and view it in 3D, all in one place.

Founded in 2012, Sketchfab has been on a mission to make 3D more accessible, to help 3D content go beyond its relatively niche domain, and brought real time 3D to everyone through the web. Sketchfab has been adopted by millions of 3D creators worldwide and has become the place to be for 3D. With Sketchfab for Teams, the company expands the accessibility of its best-in-class web-based 3D viewer beyond 3D artists, designers and digitization experts, to all members of organizations that work with 3D.

3D is an integral part of countless industries, including entertainment, education, commerce, manufacturing, and construction. Sketchfab for Teams gives an increasingly distributed workforce the necessary tools to manage, review, and distribute 3D assets. This new platform harnesses the full power of Sketchfab—easy upload, fast processing, state of the art rendering, robust conversion—for use in collaborative workflows both privately and publicly.

The new Sketchfab for Teams platform can also be leveraged for external collaboration. Organizations commissioning 3D production from external partners can invite contractors to upload preliminary or final 3D assets directly for review, approval and publishing. Similarly students on a school’s account can be organized into groups, teachers can review student work, and final projects can be displayed in an attractive public showcase.

Sketchfab for Teams allows organizations to manage their projects with the following features:

  • Manage access rights: who can upload, download, view, and edit 3D models
  • Search and access assets in a central repository: filter by polycount, format, and size
  • Inspect models: geometry, topology, materials, and textures
  • Convert assets to industry-standard formats: upload 3D content in any of the 30+ supported formats and enable collaborators to download them in the exchange format they need: glTF or USDZ
  • Publish & distribute everywhere: share and embed the Sketchfab viewer on any webpage, or distribute content with our download API

Sketchfab for Teams is currently only available for Enterprise customers but is planned to be extended to Premium and Business customers in the future. Interested businesses can get in touch here to start using Sketchfab for their team or simply share feedback. Sketchfab for Enterprise is a professional 3D visualization toolkit that allows brands to improve sales performance with 3D configurators, 3D for eCommerce, and more.
