BERWYN, Pa., March 12, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SkillSurvey, the leading provider of cloud-based reference checking is taking steps to make its solution more accessible to job candidates. The latest product updates to the SkillSurvey Reference® platform conform with best practices and standards as defined by level AA of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 guidelines.
"It's important that hiring organizations can get the critical data to understand whether a job candidate has the relevant skills and competencies that matter for success," said Ray Bixler, President and CEO of SkillSurvey. "We're continuing to invest in our platform to improve the reference checking experience and reduce barriers for job candidates and organizations everywhere. Today is just a first step; we're committed to continuing to expand accessibility across our entire digital footprint."
W3C is a private organization that develops website accessibility standards that help make websites, mobile apps, and other digital content accessible to persons with disabilities. Its guidelines address accessibility of web content on desktops, laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. Following these guidelines will make content more accessible to a wider range of people with disabilities, including accommodations for blindness and low vision, deafness and hearing loss, limited movement, speech disabilities, photosensitivity, and combinations of these, and some accommodation for learning disabilities and cognitive limitations.
Some examples of the guidelines that have been released in the solution include:
- Predictable use of page headers and footers
- Use of heading tags to organize page structure
- Text descriptions for images and descriptive names for links
- High contrast colors
- Content accessible by keyboard alone
