There are no apps to download or lengthy medical histories to fill out. Patients will then receive a response within 24 hours by one of the SkinCareOrNot.com dermatological volunteers.
The professional assigned to their case will determine the likelihood of the spot being cancerous, letting them know whether or not they should be seen in-person by a dermatologist. If it is determined that the patient should be seen, SkinCancerOrNot.com will provide the user with the name and address of the dermatology provider who evaluated their photo.
It is important to note that this is not a telemedicine site in the traditional sense, nor is it for patients that currently have a Dermatologist; but in theory, it is testing whether there is a group of patients without current care that can be helped before it is too late.
