The firm is now completing a required two-step audit process to receive full accreditation.

Skoda Minotti, a national business advisory firm, is pleased to announce that its application to the ANSI-ASQ National Accreditation Board (ANAB) to provide ISO 27001 certification services to businesses, organizations and institutions has been accepted. The firm is now completing a required two-step audit process to receive full accreditation.

“ISO 27001 is key to preventing information security breaches in all types of organizations,” said Ben Osbrach, CISSP/CISA/QSA/CICP, ISO 27001 LEAD Auditor, partner. “Once we become an ISO 27001-accredited provider, Skoda Minotti will be optimally positioned to help clients keep their information, and that of their customers, safe, while also enabling them to comply with an ever-expanding array of legal, regulatory and contractual requirements.”

ISO 27001 is an internationally recognized security certification published by the International Standardization Organization (ISO). It has become the most popular information security standard worldwide and describes how to manage information security in a company. It was written by the world’s foremost information security experts and provides methodology for the implementation of information security management in an organization. ANAB is a U.S.-based nongovernmental standards organization that provides ISO accreditation services.

Skoda Minotti is completing the final steps to become an accredited Certification Body (CB) to issue ISO 27001 certifications. ISO 27001 certifications can only be issued by a CB. The International Accreditation Forum (IAF) is the world association of conformity assessment accreditation bodies. ANAB is accredited by IAF, with the responsibility for managing the accreditation process for certification bodies in the U.S. The accreditation process ensures the quality of CBs to provide consistency throughout the world.

Enterprises seeking to pursue ISO 27001 certification should first acquaint themselves with ISO 27001:2013 requirements, then engage with an accredited consulting firm which has ISO 27001 LEAD auditors available to guide them through the process.
