ALL3D Emerges from Stealth to Showcase The Digital Future of Retail

Skyline Furniture MFG will display its new product line using 3D virtual-reality technology from ALL3D, the two companies announced. The “virtual showroom” is a solution to the cancellation or curtailment of industry trade shows, such as Las Vegas Market, as furniture wholesalers and consumer brands look for online ways to showcase their new product lines to retailers, distributors and other customers.

Skyline is working with ALL3D to create completely virtual spaces furnished with its new styles and furniture. The ALL3D platform is the first self-service solution for brands, retailers, designers and manufacturers that generates beautiful, photorealistic products and spaces without any of the restrictions of the physical world.

Traditionally, Skyline has rented space at trade shows like Las Vegas Market, shipped its products to the venue, and had to design a booth with restrictions on space and products, with only a few props to make the booth space look inspirational for on-site customers. Covid-19 has changed all of this. Now, Skyline will showcase collections via ALL3D to create "Virtual Apartments,” decorated exclusively with new silhouettes and fabrics, and designed using ALL3D’s browser-based 3D virtual reality tools. Skyline will showcase its new products and spaces via Zoom with its retailers and other distributor partners.

These online showcases will offer users the ability to experience products in spaces using virtual 3D tours. Every element of the tour is 3D-modeled: the spaces, Skyline’s furniture, backgrounds, decorative accessories and props. These 3D models are digital twins of physical products and spaces and can be created to mimic products and spaces that exist in the physical world, or to create a completely imaginary setting.

Skyline’s Virtual Apartments will not only showcase the company’s new collections in real-life settings, but their content will also become onsite lifestyle and product assets for ecommerce retail partners. This approach transforms the retailer and manufacturer relationship by eliminating the need for seasonal market showings and costly lifestyle photo shoots.

The virtual apartments and product models can be used over and over to create new 3D visualizations, and unlike a booth that is torn down after the show or a photoshoot whose content is instantly obsolete, ALL3D’s platform stores and retains all of Skyline’s 3D assets to be reused and remixed in the future.

“Skyline is always looking to the future and employing innovation to improve our product offerings,” said Meganne Wecker, President of Skyline Furniture MFG. “Our partnership with ALL3D takes our visualization technology to the next level. At a time when Covid has forced us to rethink our market strategies, ALL3D allows us to pivot seamlessly and imagine new ways of showcasing our collection.”

WHAT’S NEW

  • Skyline Furniture MFG, renowned for pioneering digital furniture upholstery printing, is once again about to transform the home industry. This fall, the company will partner with ALL3D to unveil a breakthrough virtual concept that presents furniture in an entirely new way.
  • ALL3D, emerging from stealth mode, is a 3D visualization platform led by technology evangelist Amra Tareen. All3D democratizes 3D visualization and photography through cutting-edge 3D technology and machine learning. Users create virtual showrooms, photorealistic product and lifestyle images, rooms and spaces, and AR and VR experiences, eliminating the need for costly sample production and expensive photo shoots.
  • Skyline will showcase collections that have been rendered into "Virtual Apartments,” decorated exclusively with new silhouettes and fabrics. These Virtual Apartments have been created on the ALL3D platform using inspirational imagery of various rooms uploaded by Skyline and designed using ALL3D’s browser based design tools. They will offer users the ability to experience products in spaces using virtual 3D Tours. The lifestyle images are also generated in the apartments, with one click, using ALL3D cloud services automatically converting 3D into photorealistic renderings. Digital twins of physical products and spaces are created, and every element of the tour is 3D modeled: the spaces, skyline and other furniture, decorative accessories and props.
  • Skyline’s Virtual Apartments will not only showcase the company’s new collections in real-life settings, but their content will also become onsite lifestyle and product assets for ecommerce retail partners. This approach transforms the retailer and manufacturer relationship by eliminating the need for seasonal market showings and costly lifestyle shoots required for online retail.

“Working in 3D commerce over the past five years, I have seen how big brands have experimented with 3D. But we believe there are new technologies and standards on the horizon that will automatically digitize our physical world, both for products and spaces,” said Amra Tareen, Co-Founder and CEO of ALL3D. “Over the next few years, much of the photography on the internet will be replaced by 3D experiences. We’re launching to democratize 3D technology and give access to all brands to create quick, cheap, beautiful and reusable 2D and 3D experiences that blur the difference between physical and online.”
