Electrical engineer Bill Bathgate alleges that smart meters broadcast too much microwave radiation. He says they are not grounded and lack sufficient surge protection. He also alleges that smart meters can be hacked.
Medical doctor Sam Milham, author of Dirty Electricity, alleges that school computers should be hard-wired and that Wi-Fi should be turned off. He claims that smart meters produce dirty electricity.
Coalition Attorney James Robert Deal alleges that insurance policies may or may not cover damage from electrical surges.
Attorney Deal reports that home owners and residents in one to four unit rentals can opt out of having a smart meter, but those in apartments with five or more units cannot opt out. Schools, businesses, and churches cannot opt out. Those with solar roofs cannot opt out.
Deal reports that the New Mexico Public Service Commission recently ruled that installation of smart meters “does not provide a net public benefit and it does not promote the public interest.” https://www.ruidosonews.com/story/news/local/community/2018/04/18/public-regulation-commission-rejects-smart-meter-installation-program-pnm/528478002/
