During severe weather, homeowners, businesses and emergency management agencies need fuel containers to run generators, chain saws and other gas-powered equipment.
MIAMI, Okla. (PRWEB) May 02, 2019
Just in time for National Hurricane Preparedness Week (May 5-11, 2019), Scepter™ now has distribution available throughout the entire country of their easy-to-use Scepter™ SmartControl™ fuel containers. Crafted with a unique push spout, the rugged SmartControl™ containers are designed for fast fills without spills.
“Hurricane season starts on June 1st. If you live in a hurricane-prone region on the East Coast, the Panhandle or any other geographic area of concern, now is the time to prepare your family and your business in case of a weather emergency,” says Daniel Marshall, vice president of marketing and business development with Scepter. “During severe weather, homeowners, businesses and emergency management agencies need fuel containers to run generators, chain saws and other gas-powered equipment.”
Fueling Up for 2019 Hurricane Season
Following a difficult 2018 Hurricane Season in the Atlantic, most notably of which were Hurricanes Michael and Florence, AccuWeather forecasters are predicting a near- to slightly above-normal 2019 hurricane season. This traditionally means 12 to 14 storms --- five to seven of which are forecast to become hurricanes and two to four of which may become major hurricanes.
“The past two hurricane seasons have been deadline,” says Marshall. “We’re coming off of a catastrophic hurricane season in 2017 with Harvey, Irma and Maria and then a tragic 2018 season. The severe weather conditions experienced in the past two years should be a wake-up call for people.
“Everyone from Rhode Island to Texas should be fueled up and ready for potential power outages during hurricane season. Even smaller tropical storms can have a big impact on areas. That’s why having emergency preparations complete and multiple fuel containers filled before hurricane season begins is so important.”
Getting Ready for 2019 Hurricane Season
Marshall relates that every year during hurricane seasons Scepter sees a spike in demand for fuel and water containers. This year, with the availability of the new SmartControl product offering, it’s easier than ever for people to get ready before a storm hits.
“SmartControl fuel containers are ideal for everyday homeowner use, yet tough enough to count on in emergency situations,” says Marshall. “The innovative spout design makes it easier than ever to fuel equipment, so you don’t miss a drop of precious fuel needed during an emergency.”
Available in one-, two- and five-gallon sizes, the SmartControl line includes containers for gasoline, diesel and kerosene. Scepter also offers a five-gallon BPA-free water container which is widely used in the aftermath of severe storms. Constructed of durable high-density polyethylene, all containers are North American made and designed to perform, regardless of the conditions.
“One of the most exciting features of the SmartControl line is the ease of use,” says Marshall. “The spout provides a clean, fast, and hassle-free pour.”
The SmartControl container helps save gas for where it’s needed by eliminating messy spills. The user-controlled flow valve with its flame mitigation device (FMD) makes it effortless and safe to direct the amount of fuel being dispensed. The containers store with the spouts on, so hands always stay clean.
“SmartControl is an extension of our best-in-class products known and trusted around the world,” says Marshall. “From cutting the lawn to navigating emergency weather events, the rugged containers we manufacture provide consumers with peace of mind and ease of use when handling, transporting and storing their fuel.”
Recognized by This Old House magazine as a “Top 20 Best New Product of 2019” in the Lawn & Garden category, SmartControl containers are also the recipient of the “Best in Class” Award at the 2018 National Hardware Show. Constructed in the U.S.A. of durable and safe high-density polyethylene, SmartControl containers can be found throughout the U.S. in The Home Depot®, Walmart®, Lowe’s®, AutoZone®, Pep Boys, Target and Northern® Tool + Equipment stores.
