SmartKage Kicks-off Bi-Coastal Launch
Boston, MA (PRWEB) April 24, 2014 -- More than seven years in development, SmartKage -- the future of baseball player evaluation -- has launched the first of 160 planned nationwide locations in California and Massachusetts. Baseball and softball players of all levels of competition can now get their performance data at Mike Murphy Baseball, 2470 Bates Avenue, Concord, CA. and Extra Innings Middleton, 264 Main Street, Middleton, MA.
In what the Company calls the equivalent of a “Physical SAT™” parent company SmartSports has developed the first quantitative technology system and network that measures athletic performance; baseball and softball are their first markets, football is next. Beyond the stopwatch and radar gun, there has been no standardization in sports data. They focused on that enormous void — while simultaneously addressing inefficiencies in scouting and player development — and built the solution. SmartKage uses Major League technologies to measure more than 35 skills – i.e. reaction times, body acceleration, ball speed, force generated, swing time, pitch movement, throwing accuracy, etc.
According to Company co-founder and CEO, Corrine Vitolo, SmartKage is destined to transform the analysis of the game of baseball.
“SmartKage was developed by foremost sports technologists, leading authorities in the game, including several Major League teams,” said Vitolo. “After an arduous journey to bring this technology to market we are delighted to bring it to fruition. SmartKage brings amateur, collegiate and professional athletes a clear assessment of their skills, and new efficiencies to recruiting and scouting across the industry.”
During its developmental process SmartSports has partnered with the nation’s leaders in the field of sports. Rawlings Sporting Goods, the number one Baseball brand worldwide whose 125 years of product innovation has changed the game.
SmartSports has also partnered with Sportvision which, in conjunction with Major League Baseball Advanced Media (MLBAM), has permanently installed its PITCHf/x pitch tracking system in every MLB stadium.
Vitolo said the Company will soon announce the next phase of retail installations in its 160 location network across the nation.
“SmartKage provides comprehensive performance analysis in pitching, hitting, fielding, catching, running and agility,” added Vitolo. “It can be used for instruction, player development, recruiting and scouting. Our product sits precisely at the intersect of sport and science … by creating ‘big data’ intelligence and efficiencies, we are bringing America’s pastime into the future.”
