Smith College Executive Education for Women Launches Online Leadership Development Courses
NORTHAMPTON, Mass. (PRWEB) January 12, 2015 -- Smith College Executive Education for Women announces Smith ExecEd Online, its suite of self-directed online leadership development courses.
Over the last 40 years, Smith College Executive Education for Women has grown a vast portfolio of consortium, open-enrollment, and custom-designed programs for women at all levels of an organization. Now, with the steady growth of online learning platforms, Smith brings its expertise in women's executive leadership development online.
“In 2015 we’re looking for new ways to expand on our mission of accelerating leadership development for women,” said Iris Newalu, executive director of Smith College Executive Education for Women. “Smith ExecEd Online will increase the accessibility of our trainings by easing geographical, financial, and schedule restraints.”
Smith ExecEd Online will deliver a wide range of online leadership development courses. While these courses are targeted primarily at female corporate executives, Smith ExecEd Online's courses are open to any interested participant regardless of age, gender, level of career, or education. Courses will cost less than $1,000.
“We worked hard to ensure that our online participants get the superior educational experience and high caliber of faculty that people have come to expect from Smith,” said Newalu. “Each Smith ExecEd Online course will give participants opportunities to build global professional networks, as well as focus on women's leadership development.”
Smith ExecEd Online’s initial course offering is Take Control of Your Online Reputation. The course, taught by expert marketing strategist and Smith College alumna Dorie Clark, focuses on building and maintaining an effective professional brand online.
Over the course of six weeks, participants will master digital media best practices to support and leverage their online brand, strategically build professional online networks, and learn how to avoid or remediate any online pitfalls that may arise. Each lesson has a core video introduction followed by reflection exercises, in-practice activities, engagement with the cohort, and suggested reading. The course also features podcasts with guest branding experts, including Smith College President Kathleen McCartney.
Take Control of Your Online Reputation with Dorie Clark begins March 15, 2015, and registration is now open. To enroll in this course or learn more, visit the Smith ExecEd Online website: http://ow.ly/GTAzn.
