After their client, Ellis Medicine, was recognized for the best cardiac readmissions rate in New York State, Smith & Jones set forth to create a compelling, statistic-driven campaign. Because pure facts and statistics don’t always rouse the emotions of consumers, S&J selected powerful patient stories, highlighting the outstanding care each had received. After the patients told their stories, they were told of Ellis’ recent achievements, and the camera captured genuine moments of surprise and delight as they realized they truly had chosen the right place to seek advanced heart care.
“Hard numbers are important to back up your claims, but when it comes to emotional decisions like healthcare, people don’t often think rationally.” said Smith & Jones CEO Mark Shipley. “People are more often ruled by their feelings, which is why we wanted to tell emotional stories about the experiences people went through, and how they were helped by Ellis.”
The campaign also included digital ads, billboards, and a landing page which showcased the longform video and patient stories, along with a quiz so people could check their own heart risks.
