I am a 4’10” immigrant Japanese woman, and if I can make a difference by telling my story so can you. We all have a story to tell. The question is do we have the courage to tell it?
NEW YORK (PRWEB) August 14, 2019
Asian-female, social activist and “I AM” Series Founder, Yuko Kudo, sets to disrupt the struggling artist mindset with a groundbreaking solo performance entitled “Home: My Heart” at Bar Thalia at 8:30 p.m. ET on August 16.
Kudo's upcoming performance has sparked a political conversation amongst artists worldwide about the reality of what home really means. The thought-provoking, compelling, self-expression production will raise money for Kudo to visit her home in Japan, a place she hasn’t been since she moved to the states five years ago.
“This is my second attempt at a solo show. The first time I freaked out which is what led me to start the “I AM” Series. It became the beginning of the journey for me as a social entrepreneur, Kudo said.
Kudo’s previous immigrant status (now green card holder) story of home and struggle as an asian woman in New York City couldn’t be timelier, and inspired her to create a safe space for artists to connect with people to create community. The organization empowers "struggling artists" to shift to "thriving artists" by paying artists for their performances.
“We pay our artists. We also donate 10 percent of door sales to a different charity causes every month. I am so excited to be creating this shift.”
Kudo’s mission to help numerous artists receive funding to express their art has created an art movement that is inspiring social change nationally. Kudo will share her acting, singing and musical talents with the greater New York City community during a 60-minute solo performance to showcase the importance of "home" and what it really means.
“I am a 4’10” immigrant Japanese woman, and if I can make a difference by telling my story so can you. We all have a story to tell. The question is do we have the courage to tell it?," said Kudo.
Kudo continues to break the barriers within the entertainment industry by empowering others to do so. To join the highly-anticipated performance on Friday, August 16 at bar Thalia, please RSVP here.
