GALLOWAY, N.J., Sept. 11, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Society Hill at Galloway II, a popular residential community in Galloway Township, New Jersey, recently introduced a state-of-the-art solar power system to benefit the approximately 1,000 residents that comprise the South Jersey townhome and condominium community. Society Hill at Galloway, located approximately 15 miles outside of Atlantic City, consists of 490 units spread out over 28 well-maintained acres of lush green property.
Society Hill at Galloway II is conveniently located to Stockton State College, Marriott Seaview Golf Resort, Atlantic City Medical Center, Bacharach Institute for Rehabilitation and the brightly-lit casinos along the Atlantic City Boardwalk. Residents enjoy a pool, playground, tennis courts, clubhouse and other desirable community amenities.
"Society Hill at Galloway II is a very well-run community and the Board and residents are proactive and highly engaged to enhance the lifestyle of all the residents," says Martin Laderman, founder and CEO of mem property management property, which has its regional offices located in Galloway, New Jersey.
mem property management was an integral partner in the Society Hill solar energy project and quickly saw the significant cost savings and benefits of energy self-sufficiency for the community.
"The Society Hill at Galloway II solar energy project demonstrates how affordability and environmental sustainability can be achieved with a great team and effective coordination. National Energy Partners (NEP) was an integral part of the team from the very beginning, and their commitment and dedication throughout the installation process was critical to making Society Hill an energy efficient community that produces all its own power, and a safe, comfortable community for our residents to call home," explains Kimberly Salayi, from mem property management company, who serves as the property manager for Society Hill at Galloway II.
Prior to the installation of solar panels, Society Hill at Galloway II had an average annual energy bill of between $65,000 - $70,000. "It is estimated that the energy generated from the solar panels, federal tax incentives and state tax benefits, including Solar Renewable Energy Credits (SRECs) will save us tens of thousands of dollars annually," notes Harold Hannum, president of the Society Hill at Galloway II Board, "as of July 31, 2019, 113,872 homes and businesses in New Jersey have installed a solar electric system, but to the best of my knowledge, we are the first townhome community in the state to go completely solar."
Hannum has led a number of successful initiatives to enhance the Society Hill at Galloway II community. Several years ago, Society Hill installed new irrigation wells, saving approximately $80,000 per year in water bills. In late 2014, Hannum and the Board worked together to install a 24/7 video surveillance system with approximately 500 cameras strategically located throughout the development improving safety and security for everyone. The latest solar energy project is the culmination of a multi-year effort, involving the careful coordination of board members, residents, property management, attorneys and financial advisors. The Association hired Craig Gargano, Esq. of Parker and McCay in Mt. Laurel NJ to protect the Association's interests, review the contracts and advise the Association.
"We are currently exploring a number of other significant improvements for 2020 and beyond" says Hannum, "it is how we create value for our residents and make Society Hill at Galloway II a great place to live!"
