Soft-Lite Windows has introduced an all-new single-hung, arch-top window that is especially designed to protect homeowners and their homes from airborne debris during hurricane-strength storms and other forms of violent weather – while still enhancing the beautiful & modern look of their homes. The new window offers the flexibility of two windows in one – as the single-hung and the arched top are both built into one sleek unit. This new window will complete Soft-Lite’s Barcelona Impact Window line!

Soft-Lite’s new single-hung, arch-top window incorporates a number of unique features, including foam-filled extrusions for extra energy efficiency; three times the weather stripping of competitors' products for significantly decreased air infiltration; and architectural millwork exterior & beautiful true white appearance for a distinctive appearance.

Like all Barcelona Series Windows, the company's new single-hung, arch-top windows are offered with two levels of protection so that consumers can select the model that best meets their impact needs. “Impact Level D” Windows can be installed practically anywhere, even right on the coastline. They have passed ASTM Large Missile Impact Level D tests and have also achieved HVHZ certification, which means they are tested and approved for high-velocity hurricane zones. “Impact Level C Windows” are ideal for non-coastal areas that are prone to violent weather and require windows that keep out wind and water; they easily passed ASTM Large Missile Impact Level C tests. In Florida, replacement windows are required to carry a DP-50 rating in accordance with the American Architectural Manufacturers Association’s 101 standard for air, water and structural wind load testing. Soft-Lite's Level C and Level D single-hung, arch-top windows achieve a DP rating that is significantly higher than the DP-50 threshold. These products are also one of the only impact windows on the market to earn an air infiltration rating of just .02.

All Barcelona Windows incorporate high-performance laminated glass – with three panes of glass and a protective interlayer. This unique glass is so strong it can withstand repeated blows by hammers, crowbars and baseball bats before it can be penetrated. Even when shattered, the glass is virtually impenetrable – making it an excellent barrier against airborne debris and other dangers from violent weather. Barcelona Windows also feature a high-performance Low-E coating and argon gas fill. They are ENERGY STAR certified, which means they offer exceptional thermal efficiency and energy cost savings as well.

Additionally, Soft-Lite's single-hung, arch-top windows are offered with non-impact rated glass choices as well. These glass options are an excellent choice for consumers who desire thermally efficient, ENERGY STAR certified windows, but do not require any level of impact protection for their homes.
