Tennessee-based Soluria™ has implemented a new point of purchase strategy to increase their presence in the good health marketplace focused on sports retail. The company has selected Landaal Packaging Systems as their point of purchase partner for the development and manufacturing of their newest aisle merchandiser.

“The merchandising goal for Guard Health is interruptive integration in the mouth guard section,” shares Dennis Hanlon, Founder and CEO, Soluria. “Our objective is to create a combination of attention-getting messaging and relevant placement within the sports retailer.”

Soluria recruited experts to make their merchandising vision a reality. They reached out to both Blair Marketing, for branding and the initial concept, and to Landaal Packaging Systems, for structural design and manufacturing. Both Blair and Landaal took the initial outline of the project and were able to develop renderings, samples and eventually a unique hanging display that incorporated retail peg hooks to support the merchandiser.

The unique suspended placement system was not the only requirement for the project. It was important that the display be strong enough to be repeatedly re-loaded at the retailer. The graphics and print quality were also a top priority in order to highlight the Guard Health™ brand identity. In addition, the program also had a very tight timeframe, necessitating top flight project management and logistics.

“I have worked in the point of purchase display industry for many years and have seldom come across a company with such a targeted approach to attracting their customers," states Terry Choate, the Business Development Manager for Landaal Packaging Systems. “The vision that Soluria presented was precise and it enabled us to efficiently develop a display that accomplished each of their objectives.”

The initial launch was targeted at sporting goods retailer Academy® Sports+Outdoors. Their 250+ stores were a great pilot site for both the product and the in-aisle display. The easy to attach design utilized two 14” merchandising pegs, which was a standard accessory at the retailer. The multi-tiered design allowed for the product to be clearly seen and the graphics highlighted its advantages. The open style allowed the consumer to easily shop the display and access the product for purchase.
