Sommetrics Announces Election of New Director
San Diego, California (PRWEB) October 21, 2015 -- Sommetrics, a medical technology company focused on developing products for assessing and managing sleep problems, announced the election of Bob Stearns to its Board of Directors. Mr. Stearns has a long and distinguished career, spanning over 35 years, with some of the world’s best-known computer and telecommunications companies, with responsibilities that have included advanced research and development, product development and marketing, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions, and venture investing. He has been involved with over fifty early-stage companies, as an employee, investor, and/or board member.

Bob is currently the Co-Founder and Managing Director of Sternhill Associates, providing private investment capital and management consulting services to early-stage companies in computing, communications, medical science, and energy ventures. He also co-founded and was a Managing Director of Sternhill Partners, a successful Houston-based venture capital fund that invested in early stage high technology companies. Prior to Sternhill, Bob was the Chief Technical and Strategic Officer and a Senior Vice President of Technology and Corporate Development for Compaq Computer Corporation. He has also held senior level positions at McKinsey & Co., Motorola/Codex, and Management Technologies. Bob serves on the advisory board of SparkCognition, a pioneer in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. He holds an M.S. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a Sc.B. from Brown University.
