South Carolina Sheriff’s Office Purchases License Plate Recognition from NDI-RS
Longwood, FL (PRWEB) December 13, 2013 -- Home of the famous Darlington Raceway, Darlington County, South Carolina, has chosen NDI Recognition Systems (NDI-RS) to provide automatic license plate recognition (ALPR) solutions for the sheriff’s office. The Darlington County Sheriff’s Office has purchased two Rapid Deployment System (RDS) units from NDI-RS.
RDS mobile ALPR units from NDI-RS are an extremely cost-effective way for law enforcement agencies to deploy license plate recognition. The units rely on the existing data terminals in law enforcement vehicles, and allow agencies to begin using ALPR technology within minutes. Darlington County Sheriff’s Office will also leverage NDI-RS’s relationship with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (SLED). SLED relies on NDI-RS’s back office software to maintain a statewide license plate database for all law enforcement agencies in South Carolina. By tying directly into the SLED system, the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office will not need to purchase servers or user licenses, further reducing their costs and implementation time.
“NDI Recognition Systems is pleased to welcome the Darlington County Sheriff’s Office as our newest South Carolina customer, joining such agencies as the South Carolina Highway Patrol, the Charleston Police Department, and the Fort Jackson Police Department,” said Christopher McKissick, Director of Sales. “Darlington County SO will have access to real-time data from the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles, the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), and SLED.”
