SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium & Mount Edgecumbe Hospital Hire New Chief Nursing Officer
LENEXA, Kan. (PRWEB) January 31, 2014 -- After conducting a nationwide executive search led by healthcare leadership solutions firm B. E. Smith, SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) and Mount Edgecumbe Hospital in Sitka, Alaska, has hired Brad Langdorf as chief nursing officer. A seasoned healthcare executive with more than 25 years of clinical leadership experience, Langdorf assumed his new duties on January 13.
“We needed someone with clinical expertise to help us continue to improve quality of care and grow volume. We are excited to find someone with Brad’s experience in nursing leadership,” said Dan Neumeister, chief operating officer for SEARHC and Mount Edgecumbe Hospital. “Brad is committed to the success of our organization and will be a great asset to our community."
Formerly, Langdorf was with LifePoint Hospitals in Brentwood, Tenn., serving in clinical roles at two facilities. Most recently at Lander Regional Hospital in Lander, Wyo., where he held the role of chief of nursing and clinical operations officer. In this role he provided administrative oversight for all clinical departments of an 89-bed acute care hospital, including a 13-bed acute adult psychiatric unit and 6-bed acute rehab unit. He also served as chief nursing officer for Colorado Plains Medical Center in Fort Morgan, Colo., where he led initiatives to move HCAHPS scores and core measures from the 60th percentile to the 89th percentile.
“SEARHC and Mount Edgecumbe Hospital was seeking a CNO with the ability to drive operating efficiencies and increase patient satisfaction while continuing the organization’s strong focus on providing superior care to the community,” said Kathy Noland, vice president of senior executive search for B. E. Smith, the healthcare executive search firm who conducted the nationwide CNO search for SEARHC and Mount Edgecumbe Hospital. “Brad’s clinical leadership experience was a perfect fit.”
Langdorf earned a bachelor of science in nursing from the University of Phoenix in Salt Lake City, Utah. He is currently pursuing a master's degree in healthcare administration from Ashworth College in Norcross, Ga.
About SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium:
SouthEast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) was established under the provisions of the Indian Self-Determination Act. The intent of this legislation was to have Indian Health Service (IHS) programs and facilities turned over to tribal management. SEARHC began their contracting with IHS in 1976 when they assumed management of the Community Health Aides Program. In 1982, SEARHC assumed management of the IHS Juneau clinic and in 1986 it assumed management of Mt. Edgecumbe Hospital. The consortium's highest priority is responsiveness to the needs of the communities it serves. The tribal governing body in each community has a seat on the SEARHC Board of Directors. The consortium maintains strong ties to its communities, its culture and to its tribal elders. Wherever possible they incorporate traditional Native culture practices and values into its health care delivery system. For more information, visit http://www.searhc.org.
