VANCOUVER, British Columbia, September 10, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Specialty Technical Publishers (STP) and Specialty Technical Consultants (STC) announce the availability of the newly updated International Audit Protocol Consortium (IAPC) EHS audit protocol for Poland. Leading companies around the world use IAPC EHS audit protocols to understand the scope of their EHS regulatory obligations and rapidly collect, share, archive, and export audit findings in a cost effective manner. IAPC EHS audit protocols are now prepared by STC in partnership with STP and continue to focus on those national (plus, in some cases, regional or provincial) EHS requirements that have site-specific application for manufacturing operations. As a leading EHS management consulting firm with a global network of experienced EHS teaming partners, STC has indepth knowledge and technical expertise of local/regional EHS requirements.

STP and STC maintain leading-edge EHS audit protocols for more than 50 jurisdictions. The protocol documents are written in English and are available in MS Word, Adobe Acrobat and Excel formats, as well as through STP's web-based portal or can be integrated into an existing company platform. Using the protocols' custom templates and advanced functionality features, auditors can easily track audit findings and manage data over time to improve compliance, risk management and safety performance. In addition, STP's formatting is compatible with leading risk management and sustainability platform providers.

Highlights of selected legislation covered in the newly developed protocol include:

  • The "Act of 20 May 2016 on Energy Efficiency (Dz. U. 2016, item 831)" sets forth requirements on energy audits. This Act transposes Directive 2012/27/EU on energy efficiency.
  • The "Ordinance of the Council of Ministers of 22 December 2017 on Individualized Environmental Fee Rates (Dz. U. 2017, item 2490)" sets forth fees for the use of the environment such as fees for air emissions of specific substances, wastewater discharges of specific substances, etc. Requirements were updated to align the fees with this new Ordinance.
  • The "Ordinance of the Environment Minister of 13 December 2018 on Lists Including Information and Data on Environmental Use and on the Amount of Due Fees (Dz. U. 2018, item 2527)" sets forth reporting forms and templates for submission of environmental fees.
  • The "Ordinance of the Minister of Environment of 1 March 2018 on Emission Standards for Installations, Fuel Combustion Plants and Waste Incineration and Co-Incineration Equipment [Dz. U. 2018, item 680]" provides standards for the emissions of gases and dust into the air differentiating between the kind of activity, technology used, and the date the activity at the installation commences, as well as detailed rules concerning disturbances in the functioning of installations, remedial measures, and notification obligations. The 2018 Ordinance replaces the "Ordinance of the Minister of Environment of 4 November 2014 on Emission Standards for Installations [Dz. U. 2014, item 1546]."
  • "Regulation (EU) 2017/852 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 17 May 2017 on mercury, and repealing Regulation (EC) No 1102/2008" sets forth requirements for the temporary storage and disposal of mercury waste. Requirements related to operators of chloralkali manufacturing processes, the cleaning of natural gas, non-ferrous mining and smelting operations, and extraction from cinnabar ore as industry specific are not covered in this protocol.
  • "Council Regulation (EU) 2017/997 of 8 June 2017 amending Annex III to Directive 2008/98/ EC of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards the hazardous property HP 14 "Ecotoxic"" amends requirements for hazardous properties of wastes classified as HP 14 "Ecotoxic" for purpose of determining if waste is hazardous.

U. 2017, item 2377]" establishes a database where companies placing products and packaging on the market must enter data related to the products and packaging.
  • The "Act of 14 December 2012 on Waste [Dz. U. 2013, item 21, as last amended by Dz. U. 2018, item 1479]" was amended multiple times. Among other things requirements for storage of waste and waste recording have changed.
  • The "Act of 20 July 2017- Water Law [Dz. U. 2017, item 1566]" regulates the management of water resources, including their use (including consumption and water discharging, and use of water for energy production), ownership and protection, as well as requirements for water permits. This Act repealed and replaced the "Act of 18 July 2001 Water Law (Dz. U. 2001, No. 115)."
  • The "Ordinance of the Minister of Health of 7 December 2017 on the Requirements for the Quality of Water Designated for Consumption [Dz. U. 2017, item 2294]" establishes requirements concerning water quality and potability, water quality monitoring obligations, and requirements for supervision of the facilities used for water treatment and laboratories that conduct water quality tests. The "2017 Ordinance" replaced the "2015 Ordinance (Dz. U. 2015, item 1989)."
  • The "Ordinance of the Maritime Economy and Inland Fleet Minister of 1 March 2019 on the List of Priority Substances (Dz. U. 2019, item 528)" prescribes the list of priority substances that are harmful for water environment. It does not impose any requirements on facilities.

  • The "Ordinance of the Minister of Entrepreneurship and Technology of 8 November 2018 on Safety and Hygiene of Work During the Removal of Hazardous Objects, Including Explosives, from Scrap Metal [Dz. U. 2018, item 2240]" establishes occupational health and safety requirements pertaining to the removal of hazardous materials, including explosives, from scrap metal.
