Spontime, a $3mln App for Spontaneous Meetings, Officially Launches
San Francisco, CA (PRWEB) May 18, 2016 -- Spontime, a new Social Networking Mobile App, designed to make spontaneous meetings easy, streamlined, and accessible to users, is officially launching their platform for app download and engagement on Saturday, May 21st. Already popular in Europe before an official release, the app has garnered a $3.3 million investor valuation and a significant media attention from Forbes and international TV and radio shows.
Spontime claims to make organizing spontaneous meetings for coffee, jogging, lunch, and so on, easier than ever before. The app takes a personalized approach that is much more targeted and private than posting on a Facebook wall, allowing friends to collaborate for gatherings personally and quickly.
“With all of the technological capabilities at our fingertips today, it seemed like a waste to not utilize it for enhancing people’s everyday lives through friendship, communication, and in-person gatherings,” said Karolina Demianczuk, a 21-year-old Founder of Spontime. "The surge of social networks has reduced real friendship especially for the young ones. The essence and the quality of human to human relationships, however, cannot be fully substituted by any form of technology; technology should rather boost it."
Founded as a way to focus on real relationships over digital relationships, the meeting app is targeted at college students, high school students, and young adults who want to save time and frustration messaging each friend individually for a gathering.
When Spontime first initially announced its platform, it received over two thousand download requests, a widespread media attraction and coverage in Europe, and a significant attention from Angel Investors.
“Our current valuation is $3.3 million, and we couldn’t be more excited, energized, and proud for the future of Spontime,” said Demianczuk, surprised by how many investors have approached the Spontime team so far. “Our team consists of myself and five people working hard to bring personality and in-person enjoyment back to people our age.”
Born from the frustration of waiting around alone, the Spontime idea was hatched spontaneously in a University cafeteria six months ago. On Saturday, the app will be officially available for download and meeting coordination.
