DURHAM, N.C., Feb. 26, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Spoonflower, the world's largest custom fabric and home decor digital marketplace, today announced Brad Schomber joined as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He was appointed to the company's leadership team just weeks after Michael Jones was named Chief Executive Officer, on the heels of Spoonflower's record revenue in 2019.
Schomber comes to Spoonflower with more than 20 years of experience in global finance and accounting, as well as a deep understanding of the marketplace and e-commerce industry. He most recently served as CFO at Diveplane, a technology start-up focused on keeping humanity in artificial intelligence. Prior to that, he held positions as CFO of MaxPoint, a digital advertising company that he helped guide through an acquisition by Valassis, and Chief Accounting Officer at ChannelAdvisor, one of the world's leading cloud-based e-commerce solutions that he helped take public in 2013. He currently serves as Chair for the Council for Entrepreneurial Development in North Carolina.
"One of the reasons we wanted to get Brad on board quickly was his understanding of how to responsibly scale businesses for long-term success," said Jones. "Thanks to the growing appetite for unique custom fabric and home decor, Spoonflower is poised to continue to disrupt the textile industry. Brad's proven track record of optimizing financial performance and growing global companies will be a strong asset for our team."
With factories in Durham, N.C. and Berlin, Germany, Spoonflower offers the world's biggest selection of designs sustainably printed on premium fabric, wallpaper and home decor shipped directly to consumers worldwide. The company has expanded to over 200 employees since its founding in 2008 by technology entrepreneurs Gart Davis and Stephen Fraser, and it supports over 25,000 independent artists through its design marketplace.
"I've been hearing about Spoonflower's unique value proposition and growth for a few years," said Schomber. "To have the opportunity to help lead the company into its next phase is very exciting. I love the combination of creativity and manufacturing coupled with e-commerce; it creates many significant growth possibilities."
