About the Squantum Association
The Squantum Association of Riverside, RI is a membership club located on the scenic shoreline of upper Narragansett Bay. The club features superior amenities and is known for its exceptional service, fine dining and traditional New England clambakes. The immaculately manicured grounds, including two clubhouses, reflect the club's history. A cannon from the Battle of Bull Run sits on the lawn, and both structures maintain their 19th century construction. It has played host to presidents, diplomats, government officials and business leaders in two historic buildings including the Club House which was begun in 1899 and completed in 1900. Upon its opening, one newspaper called it "the brightest bit of architecture north of the family villas of Newport". The upstairs formal dining room leads to the outside deck with its view of Narragansett Bay and, on a clear day, the Jamestown Bridge. The daringly precipitous Bakehouse, built in 1889, extends over the breaking waves for a panoramic view of the upper bay and is a premier wedding venue, hosting gatherings of up to 180 guests. Squantum is well known for grand service and deliciously prepared food and cocktails, all prepared on site and served by its experienced and professional staff.
