SR Education Group, a leading education research publisher founded in 2004, is contributing $60,000 in scholarships to 12 students this quarter. In order to achieve their mission of making college more affordable and attainable for every student, SR Education Group implemented a quarterly scholarship program. The scholarship panel has released the winners of the final round of the 2018 scholarships:
- Undergraduate Scholarship: Lily Sweet King of University of Mississippi, AnnaRae Ellison of Huntington University, ShyAnn Springer of Northern State University, and Emily Buschini of Montana State University
- Military Scholarship: Adam Isch of Baptist Missionary Association Theological Seminary and Sara Elias of Eastern Michigan University
- Graduate Scholarship: Tyler Cheesman of University of the Southwest
- Community College Scholarship: Ciara Blanks of Bladen Community College, Timari Dawkins of Spartanburg Community College, Torrence Thompson of Owens Community College, Franchesica Blair of Lawson State Community College, and Kimberly Cummings of Sandhills Community College
All of these students impressed the scholarship panel with their academic goals, professional ambitions, and the obstacles they have overcome. Many of the scholarship winners shared their gratitude for the scholarship and expressed how much the $5,000 will help them reach their goals. “An extra $5,000 means 500 hours less that I have to work to pay for my college,” shared Lily Sweet King, Undergraduate Scholarship winner. “That's 500 hours that I can spend toward studying and doing community service. I am very appreciative of your generosity and plan to one day give back in the same way.”
SR Education Group awards scholarships on a quarterly basis throughout the year. Applications are currently being accepted for the next round of all four scholarships and selections will be finalized after the March 31st deadline. The application consists of two short questions about applicant’s education and future career goals, as well as any circumstances that affect the individual’s need for financial assistance. Additional details, an archive of winners, and applications are available on SR Education Group’s website.
