SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 26, 2019 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Mixhalo, the real-time audio platform delivering a high-quality, immersive experience for venues and event organizers, today announces a partnership with, STAPLES Center, the award-winning downtown Los Angeles sports and entertainment arena. Mixhalo's permanent installation at the industry's premiere multi-use arena is the first of its kind on the planet. Now, whatever event drew fans to STAPLES Center will be elevated by an unmatched, in-ear audio experience, regardless of their seat.
"STAPLES Center embodies the audio possibilities - and challenges - of the multi-use arena, hosting more than 240 events a year, including professional sports, concerts, awards shows, and more. Mixhalo's patented cutting edge technology will transform the audio experience for fans at these events," said Mixhalo CEO Marc Ruxin. "Now, when visitors experience a live event at STAPLES they will be in the driver's seat. Imagine watching basketball and hockey with live, crystal-clear play-by-play in your ear, hearing front row sound in the last row or selecting a specific mix at a concert. That is a Mixhalo-powered experience."
At a Mixhalo-powered event, attendees use their phone*, headphones and a free mobile app to create an intimate, personalized audio experience that puts them in control of what they hear -- without relying on the venue's WiFi.
"We are now at the forefront of how live audio is delivered throughout the arena thanks to Mixhalo," said Lee Zeidman, President of STAPLES Center, Microsoft Theater and L.A. LIVE. "Mixhalo is fundamentally changing the game for fan experiences, and we're proud to be the first arena on the planet to bring this cutting-edge technology to our guests."
With Mixhalo installation in place, the STAPLES Center and Mixhalo teams have begun a rigorous fine tuning of the system including seeking the input of the arena's home teams, artists, agents, managers, promoters and other STAPLES Center clients to develop customized experiences for their specific guests. How Mixhalo Works
Mixhalo's low-latency, network-based data delivery platform consists of three key parts:
- A proprietary server connecting directly to an audio mixer or public address system
- A custom wireless solution using our own closed WiFi network
- A mobile app delivering audio directly to attendees' own phones
For a large arena deployment, Mixhalo deploys its wireless solution through scalable antennas, designed from the ground up for real-time data transmission with, theoretically, an unlimited number of connected clients on the receiving end. Live event organizers and venues like STAPLES Center then connect the server to their sound mixer or PA system and tap into the network to transmit the sound.
As a result, every seat – from the event floor to the last row of the upper bowl – has access to better, more immersive audio, transforming the live event experience. Applications for the platform are extensive, and include: Concerts and Festivals; Conferences and Trade Shows; E-sports and Sporting Events; Interpretation Services; Museums, Megachurches and more.
