The women's career event takes place on 21st June 2019 at Dudley College of Technology, with the training provided by Advanced Engineering and the Dudley College of Technology. Star Refrigeration will be one of the key sponsors of the RACHP career development day for the 4th year running.
2019 marks the sixth year of International Women in Engineering Day, which aims to raise the profile of females in the industry across the globe. The theme this year is Transform the Future, as events taking place hope to inspire more girls to consider a future in engineering. Celebrations will also take place to recognise 100 years of the Women's Engineering Society.

The IOR's Women in RACHP Network has organised the training day as a way of celebrating
International Women in Engineering Day on Sunday 23rd June. The career development day is open to anyone who is currently working in the refrigeration, air conditioning and heat pump sector, or who has an interest in this particular field. The course involves practical hands-on training and personal development seminars and discussions.
The morning session focuses on service and maintenance, and is a practical session suitable for beginners and non-technical staff. It aims to increase the understanding of servicing and maintaining equipment, and an explanation of how to test equipment to ensure it is working safely and efficiently. The afternoon workshop is designed to push personal development, helping delegates to build confidence and manage challenging situations in the workplace.
Dr Lamb said, "We want to make the engineering industry a more gender balanced place where women feel welcome and valued. We need more women at all levels within the sector, and attending these events can make females empowered and more confident in what they can achieve."
