“With the addition of Tesla and Intuit in 2018, corporate on-campus gardening programs are moving beyond just a perceived trend and becoming an integral part of employee wellness programs," said StartOrganic Co-Founder Josh Levine.

StartOrganic, the leading provider of Corporate Organic Vegetable Gardening Programs throughout Silicon Valley, today announced an impressive closing to 2018. The company added Tesla and Intuit in 2018. Both corporations introduced StartOrganic’s vegetable gardens and education programs on their corporate campuses to reduce employees’ stress levels, while improving productivity and physical health. Results of a recent survey of corporate participants in the StartOrganic on-campus programs supported all of these benefits.

At PayPal’s headquarters in San Jose, StartOrganic’s Corporate Organic Vegetable Gardening Program is already in its seventh year and has expanded five times to accommodate increasing employee interest. In 2018, PayPal expanded to 56 garden beds and over 75 employees enrolled in the on-campus gardening program. StartOrganic manages every aspect of the program from consulting services for garden design to planning events in the garden. In addition, weekly gardening lessons are provided for PayPal employees to discuss pest control, plant selection and spacing, as well as more in-depth monthly workshops.

“It was an excellent year with a marked increase in interest from corporations in our Corporate Organic Vegetable Gardening Program throughout Silicon Valley,” said StartOrganic Co-Founder Josh Levine. “With the addition of Tesla and Intuit in 2018, corporate on-campus gardening programs are moving beyond just a perceived trend and becoming an integral part of employee wellness programs. Ten scientific papers published since 2003 all reported the positive effects of gardening to reduce depression and anxiety while providing multiple emotional, social, vocational, physical and spiritual benefits. For this reason, we’re excited to be rolling out our new scalable organic gardening education programs which will benefit companies of all sizes in 2019,” concluded Levine.

StartOrganics’s newest Corporate Organic Vegetable Gardening Programs for 2019 will offer companies of all sizes a customized approach based on employee size and gardening space. There will be three tiers of services available:

  • Enterprise Level featuring complete large garden and weekly education.
  • SMB Level with a small demo garden and monthly workshops.
  • Startup Level with a small demo garden and quarterly workshops.
