StayWell Offers Instant Downloads, Licensing of Medical Art to Improve Patient Education
Yardley, Penn. (PRWEB) August 04, 2015 -- They say a picture is worth a thousand words, and when it comes to helping patients better understand certain health conditions, pictures and medical art can be essential. StayWell, a health solutions company, announced today it will license KramesArt™ for use by health care providers.
Krames Patient Education solutions have been used by physicians and other health care providers for more than 40 years and are a key part of the StayWell product portfolio. In response to growing demand for access to its KramesArt anatomical art work and drawings, StayWell will now offer online access to KramesArt as licensed files for immediate download through the company’s Krames Patient Education website, kramesstore.com.
“We understand how important images are to patients when a physician is trying to communicate about conditions and treatments,” said Elna Hamp, StayWell EVP and President of its Patient Education Solutions business unit. “Physicians and other health care providers have long turned to Krames Patient Education to help inform their patients. Now, clinicians can immediately access the images they need through this new licensing offer and online store, allowing them to quickly respond to the changing information needs of their patients.”
KramesArt is now available for cardiology, orthopedic and general surgery, with additional specialties to be added soon. Downloadable files include normal anatomy, disease states, treatments, and procedures. Files are available in high- and low-resolution formats, as unlabeled art, which gives providers greater flexibility when using the images.
According to Hamp, KramesArt files are scientifically accurate and reviewed by leading medical specialists. All StayWell medical illustrators hold a master’s degree in medical illustration and have professional status in the Association of Medical Illustrators. Senior illustrators also meet the rigorous standards required to be Certified Medical Illustrators (CMI).
“Our medical illustrators are skilled artists in traditional drawing media, digital illustration, and 2-D and 3-D modeling and animation,” said Wendy Hiller Gee, CMI, FAMI, Director, Medical Illustration and Design for Krames Patient Education. “They have many years of experience distilling complex information into artwork that is audience-appropriate and that contributes to greater health literacy through improved communication.”
