Stephens County Free Fair scheduled for Aug 22-24.Livestock shows, carnival, and more planned at the Stephens County Fair & Expo Center
DUNCAN, Okla. (PRWEB) August 09, 2019 -- The Stephens County Free Fair, held annually in Duncan since 1907, offers visitors endless family-friendly entertainment in August. Come to this much-loved county fair for live entertainment, a trade show with a wide variety of commercial vendor booths, a rodeo, arts and crafts and a carnival with amusement rides for both kids and adrenaline-loving adults. If nothing else, come to the Stephens County Free Fair for delicious food including homemade pie by the slice, barbecue brisket sandwiches, Indian tacos and charcoal-grilled hamburgers. Numerous other food vendors will also be available.
See which lucky contestant is crowned this year's queen in the fair's annual pageant, or enjoy a myriad of traditional rodeo events in the F&F Rodeo Finals and Open Rodeo. The carnival will open at 6:00 PM nightly Wednesday-Thursday and 4:00 on Fri-Saturday. Livestock shows and exhibits will feature cattle, swine, sheep, goats, poultry and more, while the open horse show will feature competitions including halter, showmanship, Western pleasure, horsemanship, trail, barrel race, pole bending and a stake race.
Don't miss the talent show with musical, dance or comedy acts, and grab a seat in the stand for the fair's Farmhand Olympics. In this event, kids of all ages compete in hilarious competitions such as hog slopping, hay stacking, wild cow milking, egg gathering, a tire swap, seed spill, nail in the haystack and a wheelbarrow race.
The Stephens County Free Fair will also feature 4-H exhibits including horticulture and local crop displays. Visitors to this fair will also enjoy open class textile exhibits and other displays on household sciences including canning, food preparation, clothing construction, quilts and crafts.
