Stiltz Lifts Named As Genius Product By Top News Site Buzzfeed After US Launch

Complied by Buzzfeed’s Peggy Wang, the article follows the opening of Stiltz’s new American office in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Originally conceived in Australia and introduced to the United Kingdom in 2010, Stiltz’s innovative through-floor lift can be fitted almost anywhere in the home and offers a completely different solution from any other domestic lift on the market.
Developed to make life easier for people with mobility problems and help them stay in their own homes for longer when the stairs become too much, the Stiltz lift has become an alternative to the ageing stairlift in the UK.
The Stiltz lift does not use hydraulics and is powered by a normal 13-amp power socket which draws between two and three amps and, for one boil of a kettle, can make four return trips upstairs. It also does not need load bearing walls as it uses a roped drum braked gear motor drive system which is neatly contained within the lift car itself. The Stiltz lift has the smallest footprint of any other home lift on the market today at just 0.62m².
Posted on Buzzfeed, whose site claims to reach more than 80 million monthly unique users, on November 8, the article received more than one million views in one week. More than 200,000 of those views came from social network, Facebook. Since its publication, the Stiltz’s website has received a substantial increase in traffic which has resulted in many enquiries about the lift.
Buzzfeed’s DIY editor, Wang, a founding editor of the New York-based leading media company, said of Stiltz lifts: “It’s like a bare-bones elevator that’s small so it fits easily into your home.”
