New York, NY (PRWEB) January 20, 2015 -- Stonegate Global Fund Services has tapped attorneys Hays Ellisen and Michael Blackburn to lead its business expansion efforts in hedge fund formation and fund administration in New York and the broader Northeast region.

Mr. Ellisen will serve as Senior Fund Counsel supporting Stonegate’s growing client base in the Northeast. Mr. Ellisen will focus on the formation and administration of complex hedge funds, venture capital and private equity funds in New York and throughout the East Coast region. Mr. Ellisen has extensive industry experience having served as underwriter and issuer counsel at Sidley Austin LLP, Katten Muchin Rosenman LLP, the former McKee Nelson law firm, as well as his current role as managing partner of Shahmoon & Ellisen LLP. He holds his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School, as well as a B.A. from the University of Minnesota.

Mr. Blackburn will also be assisting clients with domestic and offshore fund structuring, as well as regulatory and compliance matters. Mr. Blackburn has industry experience in wealth management; trust formation and estate planning for high net worth and ultra-high net worth clients. Michael also brings experience from both Merrill Lynch and Empire Wealth Strategies. Leveraging his multi-tiered background in legal and finance, Michael brings a fresh perspective to an industry that is becoming increasingly more complex and diverse. Mr. Blackburn holds his B.S. in English from Lafayette College, as well as his J.D. from Touro College.
