Catawba Radiology Associates, Hickory, NC, has joined the Strategic Radiology (SR) coalition of independent private radiology practices, adding 18 radiologist members and expanding the organization's North Carolina contingent to six groups that extend across the state to its western border.
CHARLOTTE, N.C., April 26, 2022 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Catawba Radiology Associates, Hickory, NC, has joined the Strategic Radiology (SR) coalition of independent private radiology practices, adding 18 radiologist members and expanding the organization's North Carolina contingent to six groups that extend across the state to its western border.
Founded in 1950, CRA is the primary provider of radiology services in the Unifour area of western North Carolina, encompassing Catawba, Caldwell, Burke, and Alexander Counties in the Catawba Valley. A staunchly democratic practice of 18 subspecialty trained radiologists, the practice serves both health systems in the region in addition to several standalone hospitals.

The North Carolina practice provides subspecialized interpretations to the Catawba Valley Health System, Duke LifePoint, and UNC Healthcare as well as local specialty practices, working closely with those organizations to contribute to hospital leadership and governance. Key investments in sophisticated IT infrastructure have enabled its radiologists to increase subspecialization and efficiency by making exams available on a single worklist.
