Stratovan Working to Advance Airport Security and Efficiency
Davis, California (PRWEB) September 10, 2014 -- Stratovan Corporation’s Automated Threat Recognition software and Digital Imaging and Communications in Security toolkit, both innovative developments in airport security, recently passed their critical design review stage. These two technology advances will not only enhance the safety of travelers but also improve the efficiency of airports.
The Automated Threat Recognition software (built upon their unique “Tumbler” image-segmentation technology) enhances explosives detection by automatically delineating all objects regardless of shape, topology or orientation within a computed tomography (CT) scan of checked baggage. The Digital Imaging and Communications in Security toolkit will facilitate standardized information exchange formats and will be pivotal in establishing interoperability standards for airport screening equipment.
The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) awarded these two contracts to Stratovan in September 2013 and passing this milestone allows Stratovan to proceed to the next phase of design implementation and verification.

The critical design review ensured the Digital Imaging and Communications in Security toolkit and Automated Threat Recognition software are feasible and that the designs are verifiable. The critical design review included an assessment of the detailed project plans, engineering designs, risk mitigations, and plan details for verification and validation. The review included early demonstrations of the Automated Threat Recognition software proof of concept built upon Stratovan's "Tumbler" image-segmentation technology.
