NEW YORK, Sept. 21, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- StratQuent, Silicon Xchange and Building For Africa Media, with Lagos State and the United Nations Global Compact Network, Nigeria as Institutional Partners, today announced The Capital Corridor, an invite-only gathering taking place in New York during United Nations General Assembly Week 2026.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 24 in Manhattan's Financial District, bringing together investors, founders, policymakers, business leaders and ecosystem stakeholders for an evening of conversation, networking and curated connections focused on how capital, policy and opportunity can connect more effectively across emerging and frontier markets.
The evening will combine an informal cocktail and networking experience with a focused roundtable, creating a setting for substantive discussion and direct engagement among those deploying capital, building businesses and projects, shaping policy and advancing responsible business practices.
The conversation will span capital access and investment readiness, sustainable and climate finance, responsible business and the policy and market conditions required for investment to scale. "Capital access in emerging and frontier markets has never really been a capital problem on its own, it's a corridor problem. The founders, the investors, and the policymakers who actually move that capital are rarely in the same room at the same time. That's what this convenes," said Zack Mukewa, Managing Partner of StratQuent.
Silicon Xchange will bring its focus on connecting African innovation and businesses with global markets, while Building For Africa Media will contribute its focus on increasing the visibility of African businesses, investment opportunities and the people shaping the continent's economic future. "Silicon Xchange exists to move verified capital, talent, and deal flow between Africa and Silicon Valley, and that only holds if the policy environment and the capital are moving in the same direction," said Ashley Njoroge, CEO of Silicon Xchange. "Bringing the UN Global Compact into this conversation directly, alongside the investors and founders actually doing the work, is what makes this gathering different from the usual panel."
Beyond the formal roundtable, The Capital Corridor will provide opportunities for curated introductions and informal engagement between investors, founders, policymakers, institutional representatives and ecosystem leaders. "Africa's investment opportunity is becoming increasingly visible, but visibility alone is not enough. We need stronger connections between the businesses and projects creating value, the investors looking for opportunities, and the institutions shaping the markets in which they operate," said David Goldfinger Idagu, Founder of Building For Africa Media. "At Building For Africa Media, we see narrative as part of that infrastructure, helping make African businesses, investment opportunities and the people building them more visible to global audiences and capital."
For Lagos State, participation in The Capital Corridor provides an opportunity to bring a subnational government perspective to the broader investment conversation, including the challenges and opportunities involved in mobilizing sustainable and climate finance for economic development and resilience. "For Lagos, climate action is increasingly a question of how we finance the transition and unlock the investment opportunities that come with it. We are focused on building a more resilient and sustainable city while creating the conditions for sustainable and climate finance to support that transition," said Titi Oshodi, Special Adviser to the Governor on Climate Change and Circular Economy, Lagos State. "Conversations that bring governments, investors and businesses together are important because they help us better understand what is required to turn priorities into investment-ready opportunities."
The United Nations Global Compact Network, Nigeria will bring a complementary business perspective to the conversation, connecting capital and investment with responsible business, sustainability and long-term value creation.
The Capital Corridor is designed to create a setting where these different perspectives meet, moving beyond conversation to create the relationships, connections and opportunities that can help capital move across markets.
