Xflow, backed by Stripe, PayPal Ventures, and General Catalyst, enables U.S. businesses to collect payments from their Indian customers via UPI, bank transfers and cards, with 95%+ success rates and no need to set up an entity in India.
WILMINGTON, Del., Sept. 10, 2026 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Xflow, a cross-border payments platform backed by Stripe, PayPal Ventures, and General Catalyst, today announced the launch of India collections for global businesses. The solution lets businesses anywhere in the world get paid by their Indian customers as easily as a local merchant would, accepting payments through India's most popular domestic methods. Businesses can accept cards, bank transfers, and UPI payments and have funds settled in their own currency, without establishing an entity or taking on regulatory obligations in India.
For global businesses, getting paid by Indian customers has long been a costly, leaky process. International cards frequently fail in India, succeeding less than 70% of the time, because many cards are not enabled for cross-border spending, and recurring payments face added friction from India's mandate and data requirements. Bank wires are slow and paperwork-heavy. The result is abandoned checkouts and lost revenue in one of the world's largest and fastest-growing consumer markets.
Xflow turns those cross-border payments into local transactions for the Indian buyer. At checkout, customers pay using the methods they already use and trust like cards, bank transfers and UPI, which alone accounts for roughly 85% of India's digital payment volume and supports recurring payments. These local methods settle quickly and achieve a 95%+ success rate, translating directly into higher conversion for the merchant. Funds are settled in U.S. dollars and other major currencies to virtually any global destination at competitive rates.
"Getting paid by customers in India has always been harder than it should be, and global businesses lose real revenue because of it. We're making it possible for any international company to accept payments from Indian customers as easily as a domestic merchant would with the local payment methods Indians prefer. This enables high payment success rates, settlement in their own currency, and less compliance headaches. Our mission is to make cross-border payments as seamless as domestic ones."

The solution is designed for global businesses selling into India across high-demand categories like physical-goods merchants, SaaS, AI, and consumer-tech platforms, online travel and booking platforms, and edtech providers, particularly those currently relying on international payment methods with low success rates in India. Crucially, merchants do not need to register or establish a local entity in India.
The launch comes off the back of a breakout year. Xflow grew 10x in 2025 and now serves nearly 20,000 businesses, enabling cross-border payments across 100+ countries and 25+ currencies. Earlier this year, the company raised a $16.6 million Series A at an $85 million valuation, led by General Catalyst, with participation from Square Peg, Stripe, Lightspeed, Moore Capital, and PayPal Ventures, making Xflow the first Indian fintech backed by both Stripe and PayPal Ventures, with more than $32 million raised to date. Xflow also provides its cross-border payments infrastructure to fintechs including Drip Capital and Easebuzz.
Xflow holds full authorization under the Reserve Bank of India's Payment Aggregator – Cross Border framework for both imports and exports, as well as authorization to operate as a Payment Aggregator – Online — one of the few platforms in India to hold all three. It has also received in-principle approval from the IFSCA (International Financial Services Centres Authority) to operate as a Payment Service Provider at GIFT City IFSC, and operates in Canada & US as a Money Services Business.
