Succeed Management Solutions, LLC Announces Tools to Address Major Changes by Federal OSHA on Reporting Requirements and Fines
Lake Oswego, Oregon (PRWEB) July 20, 2016 -- The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) has increased civil penalties for employer violations, effective August 1, 2016. OSHA fines have not increased since 1990, and are estimated to increase by 78 percent this year. Now linked to the Consumer Price Index, each year OSHA will continue to adjust penalties to account for inflation. State OSHA plans will also need to adopt maximum penalty levels that are as effective as the new Federal OSHA levels (OSHA QuickTakes, 7/1/2016).
In addition, OSHA has issued a final rule that will require employers in high-hazard industries to electronically submit injury and illness data beginning January 1, 2017. The generic data will be posted to the OSHA website and made publicly available. The goal of the rule is to encourage organizations to better identify hazards, correct problems, and prevent future injuries and illnesses.
Succeed offers a web-based solution to help employers maintain their OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 reports and will provide the capability to electronically report required annual data to OSHA in 2017. Incident Track® is a complete incident management solution that allows employers to proactively manage their workplace safety processes, including near miss reporting and corrective action implementation.
