- Residential Solar – According to a 2022 US Solar Market Insight Report provided by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA) in June, the solar industry is on track to quadruple by 2030. The U.S. installed 3.9 gigawatts (GWdc) of solar PV capacity in Q1 2022 to reach 126.1 GWdc of total installed capacity, enough to power 22 million American homes. Solar accounted for 50% of all new electricity-generating capacity added in the U.S. in Q1. Residential solar had its largest quarter in history with 1.2 GWdc installed, a 30% increase year-over-year.
