SUN Behavioral Health Announces New CEO, New Programs
Houston, TX (PRWEB) July 27, 2016 -- SUN Behavioral Houston, the newest member of the SUN Behavioral Health family of psychiatric hospitals, is pleased to announce the hospital’s new CEO, Maurice A. Washington, RN, MSN.
“We are excited for Maurice to join our organization as we work collaboratively to ensure quality care and meet the mental health needs of the community,” said Steve Page, President and CEO of SUN Behavioral Health.
With a long history of healthcare service in acute psychiatric settings, Mr. Washington held previous clinical and administrative positions at Friends Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from The Pennsylvania State University-University Park and a Master of Science in Nursing-Public Health Nursing from LaSalle University in Philadelphia.
SUN Behavioral Health, which has no relations to prior owners, leased and performed extensive renovations on the facility located at 7601 Fannin Street. This location celebrated its opening in January 2016 as SUN Behavioral Houston. With three patient floors each divided into four distinct wings, SUN Behavioral Houston offers patients personalized programs to cater to their unique needs according to age, gender, and acuity. Along with the new hospital, SUN Behavioral Houston is pleased to offer a new patient care model which includes three new programs:
• Adolescent Inpatient – Provides diagnosis and rapid stabilization for individuals suffering from acute behavioral issues.
• Adult Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient – Provides structured full-day and half-day programs for adult patients struggling with mental health challenges.
• Adult Co-occurring Disorders – Provides treatment for individuals struggling with the dual challenges of chemical dependency and mental health disorders.
Other programs available at SUN Behavioral Houston are Mood and Anxiety Disorder Unit and Thought Disorder and Intensive Care Unit. Upcoming programs will include Adolescent Partial Hospital and Intensive Outpatient and Women’s Inpatient Specialization with a Trauma Component.
