Sunflower Lab Deploys Custom ERP Solution for Accurate Neuromonitoring, Streamlining Operations While Saving Time and Money

The ERP brings order to Accurate Neuromonitoring's scheduling and invoicing, which is incredibly complex given the nature of their IONM business and the variants involved with healthcare billing. The solution that Sunflower Lab created has made Accurate Neuromonitoring's business much more efficient; enabling them to focus on superior quality patient care, geographical expansion, and revenue growth.

"Imagine a healthcare business that requires two people for every job, one onsite at a hospital and the other remote. The onsite location changes on a daily basis and cannot be accurately predicted further than a week out. The time it takes to provide your service could be one hour or it could take ten hours, depending on how the surgery goes. Each client/hospital has different billing rules with respect to the moment your billing starts (e.g. when you arrive or when the patient arrives), whether you should bill the hospital directly or bill the patient's insurance, and the time increments you can bill in, among other complexities. Sunflower Lab was tasked with creating a system for Accurate Neuromonitoring that would facilitate their rapid growth and consolidate the systems of companies they had acquired into one.

The Sunflower Lab team conducted dozens of interviews to understand Accurate Neuromonitoring's business and mapped out all the potential workflows. In order to meet Accurate Neuromonitoring's needs, custom business rules needed to be created for each of their clients, given the variation in billing practices.

Accurate Neuromonitoring has an excellent reputation for being able to meet its clients' scheduling requirements on a short timeline. The new solution had to meet and exceed Accurate Neuromonitoring's scheduling standards as the company grew from serving two states to eleven states. The additional "moving parts," including clients and personnel would stress many scheduling systems, but Sunflower Lab was able to handle the challenge.

Beyond the complexity of the work location changing on a daily basis, the ERP also needs to account for which technicians are full-time versus part-time and who is on PTO. Sunflower Lab developed a system of business rules and a workflow that factors in each of the aforementioned considerations and allows Accurate Neuromonitoring to effectively and efficiently schedule its personnel.
