SuperFlow is the Official Dynamometer Sponsor of the AMSOIL Engine Masters Challenge going on October 1-5. Competitors will test their engines on a SF-902S Engine Dyno operated by a SuperFlow service representative.
MENTOR, Ohio, Oct. 4, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- SuperFlow is once again the Official Dyno Sponsor at the AMSOIL Engine Masters Challenge presented by HOT ROD. Currently in its 17th year, the competition pits the region's top engine builders against one another in a 5 day event. The field is split between two classes; the Vintage class for pre-1954 V8 engines and the Traditional Muscle class for v8 engines built in 1955 or after. The event is being hosted by JE Pistons at their corporate R&D facility in Mentor, OH with 25 competitors from around the region.
The competition is conducted on a SuperFlow SF-902S engine dynamometer which is rated for 15,000 RPM and can handle power up to 1,500 HP with 1,200 lb-ft of torque. David Blackburn, a SuperFlow Technical Service representative, will be on site to configure, calibrate, and operate the dynamometer.
"My role is to work closely with the event directors and competitors to ensure that the dyno pulls are executed in a consistent, fair, and safe manner," says Blackburn, who has over 20 years of experience in the testing industry. "I'll serve as an impartial judge to validate each dyno pull with WinDyn Data Acquisition & Control and present the results to the event director for scoring."
In addition to the technical support provided by David Blackburn, SuperFlow has also provided the event with additional engine carts and dyno parts to ensure the event runs as smoothly as possible. In the event of equipment failure, issues will be resolved quickly with consistent testing between all competitors.
"This is a great opportunity to showcase the testing capabilities of SuperFlow equipment with some of the most impressive engine building teams in the country," added Blackburn. "Events like this further solidify SuperFlow's standing as the premiere performance engine dynamometer in the industry."
SuperFlow was acquired by Power Test, Inc. in September of 2017. Production and operations are currently being relocated from Des Moines, IA to the new 50,000 sq.ft. manufacturing facility at Power Test headquarters in Sussex, WI.
