Support KC and Shipley Communications, LLC, to Hold Grant Writing Boot Camp in August
Support KC and Shipley Communications, LLC, will come together for three hands-on sessions to train local nonprofit participants on the ins and outs of grant writing. These sessions will provide tips on grant writing, as well as guidance on researching the grants that best fit their mission.
KANSAS CITY, Mo., July 24, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Support KC and Shipley Communications, LLC, will hold three intensive hands-on sessions on grant writing in August. These sessions will take place over a period of three weeks spanning two hours per week. The first session will be held on August 6, from 3–5 p.m. at the Central Library branch of the Kansas City Public Library.
Grant writing is an indispensable task for nonprofits, and often causes anxiety and stress for the nonprofit staff due to the highly competitive nature of grant applications. Support KC and Shipley Communications, LLC are collaborating to help local nonprofits research mission-aligned grants and how to apply for them, write grant proposals, collect data, create budgets and submit grant applications.
The boot camp will focus on the many factors that nonprofits must take into consideration while researching grants and writing proposals. At the end of these sessions participants will target and write at least four grant proposals to further the mission of their organizations. Nonprofit participants will also learn how to systematize the grant-writing process so certain steps do not have to be redone every time.
"Support KC serves as the backbone of many nonprofit organizations, helping them behind the scenes," says Debra Box, president and CEO of Support KC. "Therefore, we know how important grant writing is for nonprofit organizations, but with limited resources of time and funds it becomes a challenge to write a good grant proposal without getting overwhelmed. The Grant Writing Boot Camp in August will help our local nonprofits gain a hands-on experience in grant research, proposal writing, data collection and much more."
