Suspense Thriller CHARIOT Hits Wal-Mart Shelves November 19th
Dallas, TX (PRWEB) November 14, 2013 -- CHARIOT, an original independent feature film project by writer/producer Eric Vale, director/producer Brad Osborne and actor/producer Anthony Montgomery, debuts this week exclusively in Wal-Mart stores across the country. Produced by Dallas-based Mancat Films, Chariot will be available for the first time on DVD Tuesday, November 19th.
Starring Anthony Montgomery (Star Trek: Enterprise) and an ensemble cast of Texas-based actors, Chariot paints a cautionary tale of what can happen when the good intentions of the U.S. government are poorly executed.
In the film, seven strangers wake aboard a passenger jet in mid-flight and find themselves unwitting participants in a government evacuation program. As a seemingly devastating attack unfolds on the U.S. homeland, the passengers learn they have been chosen to be saved because of their unique skills and/or political connections. But from the beginning, the plan appears to be ill-conceived and for those aboard things quickly go from bad to worse.
"The film is--among other things--a commentary on the power and reach of the government," Osborne said. "But I never could have predicted the subject would be so top-of-mind in the public consciousness at the very moment of Chariot's release."
The film was shot entirely aboard a non-functioning Boeing 727 parked in the back lot of Dallas-based AMS Pictures. Throughout the film, the audience is never allowed to see anything the characters can’t see. Therefore the film contains no exterior shots of the airplane. Unfolding in real time, Chariot boasts a number of surprising revelations and plot twists designed to keep audiences guessing to the end.
"I just set out to write a thriller. But what was initially a fairly far-fetched plot now seems eerily believable," Vale said about his first screenplay brought to feature film status.
The real-life mystery of the disappearance of a passenger aircraft sparked the story idea behind Chariot. In 2003, an American Airlines Boeing 727 - registration number N844AA - vanished from an airport in Angola. Despite a worldwide yearlong search by the FBI and CIA, the plane was never seen again.
The movie drew a packed house at its invitation-only premiere screening on July 15th at the historic Texas Theatre in Dallas. "Osborne, Vale, Montgomery, cast and crew have come together and created a suspense‐filled independent feature film sure to thrill movie lovers," said June Cron, a producer and financial backer of the project.”
