Over 400 skilled labor jobs are expected to support $420 million in regional construction contracts.
LEEMORE, Calif., June 2, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Swinerton, California's premier general contractor with 135 years of expertise, continues to make strides in the region, expanding its portfolio to over $420 million in upcoming construction projects for the education, medical, civic, and gaming industries. Swinerton's heritage has deep roots in the Central Valley since founder Charles Lindgren aided in the reconstruction of Bakersfield after a devastating fire in 1889.
Among noteworthy achievements in the region, Swinerton marked the completion of the two-year renovation and expansion of Tachi Palace Casino Resort during a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 24, 2023, which also celebrated the resort's 40th Anniversary. Swinerton provided general contracting services for the interior and exterior improvements, designed by Cuningham Group Architecture, and inspired by the culture and natural beauty of the Tachi-Yokut tribal lands. The first- and third-floor renovations include new openings and pathways between the existing casino sections, creating openness and improving the overall flow throughout the resort. Swinerton's expertise ensured the project's success, as the resort remained fully operational during construction.
"Recognizing the growth opportunities within the Central Valley, we remain committed to assisting clients in executing their visions through preconstruction and construction services and exceeding quality expectations," says Stuart Price, Swinerton Project Executive.
Among Swinerton's regional active projects is the $22.3 million Los Banos Police Station with design-build partner Shah Kawasaki Architects. Situated on a 4.7-acre site, this includes a 25,000-square-foot headquarters with a new dispatch center, community outreach, meeting space, police department divisions, and a 3,000-square-foot adjacent outbuilding. Furthermore, Swinerton has begun construction on a new place of worship project in Modesto for a confidential client, and the exterior retrofit of the B.F. Sisk Courthouse in Fresno. Swinerton also recently converted a former K-Mart into a new 93,000-square-foot customer experience center for T-Mobile in Kingsburg.
Swinerton's construction pipeline is anticipated to generate over 400 new trade jobs, expand the skilled labor pool, and foster economic growth for the Central Valley. Additionally, Swinerton is uniquely able to self-perform critical trades such as drywall, general clean-up, specialties, and doors, frames, and hardware, which supports quality and schedule certainty.
On June 5, Swinerton is hosting a virtual trade partner outreach event from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. During this interactive session, participants will have the opportunity to learn about upcoming bidding opportunities and discover the benefits of collaborating with Swinerton.
