Swinerton Southeast Delivers 100 Percent Affordable Senior Living Community Sycamore Heights

Swinerton announces the completion of 100 percent affordable senior housing development. Sycamore Heights, located in Jefferson, Ga., is slated to begin moving in residents in April 2021.

“The demand for high-quality affordable housing is only going to increase with time; the Southeast alone demands tens of thousands of new affordable housing units every year,” said Swinerton Operations Manager Paul Nielsen.

Swinerton, a top-ranked, employee-owned General Contractor established in 1888, announces the completion of its latest 100 percent affordable senior housing development. Sycamore Heights, located in Jefferson, Ga., which received substantial completion on March 25, 2021 and is slated to begin moving in residents in April 2021.

Nestled on eight acres, the 78,717-sq.ft. OneStreet Residential / Tapestry Development Group facility was designed by Foley Design Architects as a 55 and over senior living community with one, three-story building that consists of 64 total apartments. The facility offers both one-and-two bedroom apartments and already is 74 percent leased. With an emphasis on promoting a sense of community, connection and well-being, Sycamore Heights includes a fitness center, community room with bistro, multi-purpose room, covered wrap-around porch, and additional gathering areas throughout the building and outdoors.

“The demand for high-quality affordable housing is only going to increase with time; the Southeast alone demands tens of thousands of new affordable housing units every year,” said Swinerton Operations Manager Paul Nielsen, “The reality is that the pandemic has exacerbated this need across our more vulnerable populations, and well-designed, well-built developments such as Sycamore Heights are going to play an instrumental role in ensuring the continued quality of living for seniors.”

Sycamore Heights is the latest project to be constructed throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. Swinerton’s rigorous health and safety protocols ensure Sycamore Heights and other projects were able to continue construction. Swinerton leveraged BIM360 for monitoring safety, quality, and overall punch on the project.
