MONTREAL, Jan. 21, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Syntax Systems (Syntax), the leading global managed cloud provider for mission-critical applications, today announced the launch of its employee-led initiative to grow the next generation of leaders through global education empowerment. This month, Syntax celebrated its customers and December as National Giving Month by donating $10,000 to the International Literacy Association (ILA).
"ILA is a global organization created to support literacy professionals, improve reading instruction, facilitate dialogue about research on reading, and encourage the habit of reading," said ILA Executive Director Marcie Craig Post. "We're grateful to be the first 2020 beneficiary of Syntax's commitment to education empowerment. The company's donation will help our teams better support literacy instruction across the world, throughout the year."
Syntax delivers comprehensive technology solutions, to businesses of all sizes, for thousands of customers who trust Syntax with their IT services and enterprise resource planning (ERP) needs. The company currently employs over 1,200 team members across the globe, who overwhelmingly chose education as the single most important initiative for Syntax to support. Throughout the year, an internal community of Syntax volunteers will determine how funds are spent and will lead the company through various activities to drive volunteer efforts such as after-school mentoring programs, partnerships with educational non-profits, and grants to organizations where employees regularly choose to volunteer.
"Syntax is always looking for initiatives we can support that drive corporate citizenship for our internal teams and customers," said Christian Primeau, Global CEO for Syntax. "We are focused not only on giving monetary contributions but also ensuring our employees have the time throughout the year to volunteer with organizations they are passionate about. We believe it's every company's responsibility to help grow the next generation of leaders in big and small ways. Our company is committed to empowering global education every day."
Syntax will continue supporting its long-standing non-profit partner, Communities in Schools (CIS) Durham, an organization that connects students with community volunteers who encourage them to excel in school and life. Since 2015, Syntax has donated more than $100,000 and provided numerous hours of volunteering to CIS Durham to fund education efforts in one of the company's local communities.
"Over the past decade, CIS Durham has served twenty schools and more than 15,000 students across Durham, North Carolina," said Kerry Raquel, Executive Director and CEO of CIS Durham. "Syntax's continued financial support and volunteer efforts will help us further our mission. Together, our teams will build community through education and empower students to change the world."
