“The inspiration for the Hydra 3 bike light came from two groups of people. The first are individuals who work standard hours and are starting their rides when the sun is already setting but keep getting after it whenever they can,” says co-founder Chris Slaughter. “The second is the adventure and endurance riders, who often don't want to have excess weight on their head for extended periods of time. We wanted to make the experience better for both of these groups.”
The proprietary terrain-adaptive lighting system gives the Hydra 3 the capability to adapt to rider inputs with no additional equipment required. Light stays on the trail, rather than staying centrally focused like traditional lights, so users can ride smoother, faster and safer. This occurs while improving brightness, increasing battery life and makes it so if riders don't want to run a helmet light, they don't have to.
The Hydra 3 boasts a 2-hour run time at full brightness, a 3400 mAh lithium-ion rechargeable battery, a USB-C charging port, a 900 lumen equivalent output, hybrid power technology and neutral color 5000K LEDs. If users need to ride longer than 2 hours it has the option to use a USB battery pack to power the light for an indefinite period of time.
