AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 27, 2018 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Phaser Lock Interactive and Smilegate announced at the Tokyo Game Show 2018 the chance to dive into the world of real time strategy with their Virtual Reality title, Final Assault, where players will have their chance to drop into a World War 2 battlefield with explosive ground combat, and dogfighting aircraft circling the player's head. Fight the battle, win the war!
Filled with explosive action from the moment players enter the game, Final Assault brings the most intriguing parts of the classic RTS genre to VR. Towering over the battlefield, players take on the role of a battlefield commander. The player has complete control from defending their headquarters to deploying an onslaught of tanks, planes and artillery. Reach out and grab vehicles to draw paths for precise combat, control air strikes, and deploy bombing runs as your troops advance toward enemy territory.
Creative Director Todd Bailey says, "We really want the player to feel like they are immersed in the battle, with the action and combat happening around them in 360 degrees. Bombs are dropping, tanks are firing, combat is happening in the sky and on the ground. Be prepared for anything."
Final Assault gives players tanks, jeeps, motorcycles, and artillery. But that's not all. There are also fighter planes that strafe enemy infantry, bombers that wreak havoc on fortified emplacements, and troop planes that parachute in screaming commandos. Quick thinking, strategic decisions, and fast VR reflexes are imperative as players jump into this first of its kind VR combat!
Players can choose from a single-player campaign, or compete against friends and turn them into foes as they go head-to-head on 12 dynamically different PvP maps. A variety of troop types gives players diverse gameplay with massive ground combat, aerial assaults, and even the ability to swarm opponents with overwhelming infantry.
