Tanner Patrick of the Frost chapter of the Texas FFA was presented the John Justin "Standard of the West" Award at the 95th annual Texas FFA State Convention held July 10 through July 14 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
FORT WORTH, Texas, July 20, 2023 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ -- Tanner Patrick of the Frost chapter of the Texas FFA was presented the John Justin "Standard of the West" Award at the 95th annual Texas FFA State Convention held July 10 through July 14 at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.
Established in 2001, the John Justin "Standard of the West" Award recognizes Texas FFA members who go above and beyond, exemplifying the spirit of agriculture, its work ethic, and core values of integrity and perseverance. Selection criteria also include the student's academic achievement, integrity, honesty, and role as a good neighbor and helpful member of the community. Each year, 12 students representing each regional area of the Texas FFA are selected as finalists for the award.

The 95th annual Texas FFA Convention recorded approximately 15,000 students, industry professionals, and agricultural science educators from across the Lone Star State. Members of the state's largest agricultural youth leadership organization spent the week attending leadership workshops, participating in events and activities, being recognized for their achievements, and serving as the legislative body for the Texas FFA Association.
