Tariq Drabu Encourages Head Teachers to Ban Sugared Drinks

Tariq Drabu said, “It is good that the British Dental Health Foundation is taking steps to eradicate sugar drinks at schools throughout the country. These drinks have an impact on dental health and it is so important that school aged children understand this importance to ensure they enjoy good dental health in their adult years.”
Tariq Drabu went on to say, “A majority of children starting school already have cavities. Lifestyles are now accepting of sugar drinks, which can increase the risk of cavities dramatically. Through the removal of these drinks in schools along with education, children can learn the importance of dental health at a young age. The younger the person starts to look after their teeth, the less likely they will struggle with problems later on.”
Tariq Drabu closed in saying, “I am delighted to hear that there are less children struggling with dental problems than previous years, but the numbers are still high for those who do have cavities at a young age. Encouraging schools to eradicate sugar drinks and encourage water instead can leave a lasting impression in later life. Many schools have welcomed this change and are taking steps to eradicate sugared drinks on school grounds, while others are still unsure about taking such a large step. There are parents that are not happy with the change, but for children, the sooner they learn the dangers of sugared drinks, the better." Dr Drabu went on to say that he is a strong believer in education and educating children at an early age can help combat dental problems in later life.
